Replacing your existing “standard” plumbing fixtures with water saving plumbing fixtures products will have a huge impact on your overall water consumption. It will be a great step towards making a difference in water conservation.
Many manufacturers offer a big selection on low flow shower heads, dual flush toilets or dual flush toilet kits.
Replacing standard shower heads with low flow shower heads does not require a lot of money and it has a 1-2 year payback. Low flow shower head gpm can be as low as 0.5 gpm. I recommend getting the best low flow shower head so you can save lots of water.
If you have a fairly new toilet, and it is not in your budget to buy a new low flow of dual flush toilet, get the dual flush kit. It does the job and for very low up front expense.

Kitchen faucets are another place where water is being wasted. Adding a faucet aerator are is an easy and quick installation and it will save you water. And also remember to scrape the dishes before pre-rinsing them and fill your sink with a bit of water for that. Don’t rinse dished under running water!
Watch your water/sewer bill will get lower once you have installed the water saving fixtures.
